Our First Donation Drive Drop Off at Salem Animal Rescue League

As many of you know, we have been doing a donation drive around our area, and we are so excited to announce that we just completed our first drop off to Salem Animal Rescue League in Salem, NH.

We have been picking up countless blankets, towels, and other dog related items like food, toys, collars, and leashes. It had gotten to the point where the whole entire backseat of my car was completely filled with goodies for the pups!

Our First Animal Shelter Donation

Last week, we finally made our first drop off to SARL of 10 blankets, 10 towels, 8 leashes, 8 collars, 6 harnesses, and 4 cute little dog jackets!

These blankets were put right to use to comfort some of the pups waiting for their forever home, especially given that it was pouring the day we went, so there were some wet pups after their walks!

Being able to provide blankets and other supplies to an animal shelter is exactly why we started doing these donation drives. We know how important these everyday items can be for dogs and cats waiting for their forever families.

Meeting the Adoptable Dogs at SARL

After we dropped off the goodies, we were able to meet a few of the adorable adoptable dogs and take them on short walks around the property in the rain.

The first pup we saw was a little puppy named Kiwi, who had already been returned twice in the matter of a month at the animal shelter. It’s so sad for us to see these dogs returned for just being high energy or just being themselves. Kiwi was so thankful for his extra attention, and he even got the zoomies after we got back from his walk!

Zena was another senior pup we got to see who is looking for a nice home where she can just chill and find herself a loving companion. She is really so sweet and loves to be pet and just chill out on a couch with her person! She wasn’t a huge fan of the rain, so we kept most of her visit inside.

Zander was the last pup we got to walk, and he surprisingly was super happy to get outside for a walk despite the rain! He is a 3 year old boxer mix that loves giving hugs and kisses! He was always by our side and just loves his people, just like Zena. He also loved rolling around in the grass and just being a goofy puppy!

We Had to Visit the Cats Too

After the puppies, of course we had to see some kitties too!

Our favorite was a little tripod cat named Calloway that wouldn’t let her three legs stop her from being a super playful cat!

We also got to see the bonded trio of Oreo, Mister, and Gigi again, who are having a hard time finding their forever home. They are such sweet cats that love to cuddle up with each other and love their treats!

Supporting Animal Shelters Through Dogwood Pack

It is always so amazing to go to Salem Animal Rescue League to donate these blankets and meet all the wonderful dogs and cats waiting for their forever homes.

Remember, every blanket and shirt purchased helps us provide these dogs and cats with more blankets, and keeps us doing things like these donation drives!

Our goal is to continue finding ways to support animal shelters and rescue organizations in our area. Whether that means donating blankets, collecting shelter supplies, spending time with the animals, or helping spread awareness about adoptable pets, we want to continue doing whatever we can to make a difference.
