This Wednesday, we had the opportunity to donate 28 blankets to the dogs and cats at the Salem Animal Rescue League. Not only did we donate the blankets, but of course we had to bring some squeezable treats for the cats and grab a couple pup cups for the dogs that are currently up for adoption!
We wanted to use this space to highlight some of the amazing adoptable dogs and cats we met during our visit to this incredible animal rescue.
The first pup to get her pup cup was Pogo! As many of you know, Pogo is one of our absolute favorites at SARL. She is truly a sweetheart and such a beautiful, loving pup. We were greeted right away with her excited tail wags and the jumps that she is best known for (hence her adorable name)!
When she first got the pup cup, it took her a second to realize what it was since she can be a little nervous at first. But once she got a good smell, she wasted no time digging in! Pogo has been with the rescue for over two and a half months now while she waits for her forever home. She just needs a family that is patient with her so she can blossom into the amazing dog we know she is. She would fit best into a home without small children or cats since she can be a little nervous at first.

The next pup to get his sweet treat was Clyde! Clyde is a three-year-old Doberman mix who was such a gentle giant, weighing in at around 95 pounds. He was so happy to see some new people and wasted no time at all digging into his treat!
It was gone in no time, and then he started carrying the empty cup around as if it were some kind of prize 😂. He truly enjoyed getting some butt scratches and meeting us for the first time. Clyde is another wonderful adoptable dog currently waiting for his forever family.

The final pup who was fully available for adoption when we arrived was Sasha, a five-year-old Siberian Husky. She was so happy to see us as well and wasted no time devouring her pup cup. It was literally gone in about three seconds 😂
Although she was not too dramatic or talkative while we were there because she was completely locked in on her treat, we were told she is very true to her Husky roots and is quite the talkative pup! She also absolutely loves treats (clearly 😂) and will sit so politely while waiting for a snack.

After meeting some of the adoptable pups, we headed over to Kitty City to meet some of the cutest cats and give them some Delectables treats as well.
One group that really stuck with us was the bonded trio of Gigi, Oreo, and Mister. All three of them absolutely loved their treats, especially Oreo, and they were so happy to get some extra attention.
Another cat who was thrilled to get some love was Whammo, an approximately eight-month-old kitten with a very strong personality to say the least 😂 She was more than happy to accept every bit of attention she could get from us and definitely enjoyed her fair share of Delectables.
