Our Third Donation Drive Drop-Off to Salem Animal Rescue League

Our Third Donation Drive Drop-Off to Salem Animal Rescue League

Our third donation drive drop-off is officially in the books!! This time, we headed over to Salem Animal Rescue League in Salem, NH, to drop off blankets, towels, treats, and toys for the animals in their care. We were able to donate 15 blankets, about 20 towels, and a ton of dog treats and toys! This brings our total to an incredible 256 blankets donated since starting Dogwood Pack.

About Salem Animal Rescue League

Salem Animal Rescue League (SARL) is a no-kill animal shelter that believes in providing a safe haven, compassionate care, and new permanent homes for all. They vow to help every animal they can, whether that animal is suffering from disease or injury, facing discrimination because of their breed, or simply has nowhere else to turn.

SARL's mission is centered on saving the lives of abandoned, neglected, and injured animals through safe haven, compassionate care, and permanent placement. They also work hard to educate the public and promote awareness about humane care and treatment of animals, and they are committed to reducing overpopulation primarily through their 100% spay/neuter policy. The dedication SARL has to every animal that comes through their doors is something we deeply admire, and we're so grateful to be able to support the incredible work they do.

Meet Ducky 🐾

After dropping off all of the donations, we of course could not leave without spending some time with the animals! Every visit to a rescue reminds us exactly why we started Dogwood Pack in the first place, and this one was no different.

One of the sweetest animals we met during our visit was Ducky, an 11-month-old Retriever mix who is as friendly as they come. Ducky knows no strangers, whether it's people, dogs, or cats, she wants to be friends with everyone! She came to SARL very emaciated, but has put on weight beautifully over the past few weeks and is now healthy and ready for a home of her own. She loves food and treats so much that she's a joy to train, and she recently aced a sleepover with a staff member, showing off her house manners, her progress with housetraining, and her sweetness with kids and other pets alike.

Ducky is a happy, affectionate, social puppy who has so much love to give, and she deserves the very best home out there.

Meet Oreo, Mister, and GiGi 🐾

We also had the pleasure of meeting a bonded trio of cats, a mama named GiGi and her two grown kittens, Oreo and Mister, who must be adopted together. This sweet family was suddenly uprooted from the only home they'd ever known through no fault of their own, and keeping them together has been a top priority for SARL.

GiGi loves curling up in her hidey hut and rewarding gentle pets with a soft purr, while also showing her playful side once the shelter quiets down. Oreo lights up for pats and dinner time, and Mister is the curious one of the group, always keeping an eye on things, loving to be sung to, and cuddling up close to his mom. All three adore treats and tuna fish, and the staff and volunteers at SARL have fallen completely in love with how bonded this little family is.

If you're interested in meeting Oreo, Mister, and GiGi, or any of the other animals currently up for adoption, you can visit www.sarlnh.org and complete an online application.

Thank You for Making This Possible

None of this would be possible without every single person who has supported Dogwood Pack by ordering a custom blanket, custom shirt, or any of our other products. Every purchase helps us continue doing donation drives like this one, and we truly cannot thank our community enough for the love and support we have received since day one.

We are so grateful to the entire team at Salem Animal Rescue League for welcoming us and for everything they do for the animals in their care. We cannot wait to continue growing this donation drive and making even more drop-offs to rescues like SARL in the future!

Remember, every custom dog blanket and shirt purchased through Dogwood Pack helps us keep donating blankets and other comfort items to shelter animals who are still waiting for their forever homes. Thank you for helping us make a difference, one blanket at a time. 🤍
